Installation FAQ's
Commomly asked questions regarding our installations
Will my system be eligable for Feed in Tariffs?
Yes. Greenheart Energy and its associates are accredited under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme. All the products that Greenheart use are certified products and OFGEM approved, so your installation will attract Feed-in Tariffs
How do I apply for Feed-in Tariffs?
Once your system has been installed and commissioned by a Greenheart engineer, we will send you a completion certificate. You can then contact your electricity supplier and provide them details of your PV system. However, you do not have to receive FiT payments from your energy provider. All energy companies with more than 50,000 customers are obliged to provide FiTs, so you can choose which company to use
How long will it take to install a Solar Thermal system?
Our experience tells us that a typical domestic installation will take between 2 to 3 days to install. We will be able to give a more accurate timescale following a site survey of your property
What is the standard process of installation
Following acceptance of this quotation, and notice to proceed on the project, Greenheart Energy Ltd envisages the following timeline: Week 1 • Initial site visit to confirm total amount of roof space and review existing electrics; • Confirm initial quotation, or advise of revised figures and reasons; • Order key components for delivery. Week 4 – This will be dependent on availability of key components • Roof barriers to be installed on site; • Install brackets to mount solar modules; • Install solar modules to roof brackets; • Complete installation of solar modules and all external works; • Install Inverter and controls; • Wire and connect solar modules to inverter and controls; • Complete all internal works, check and commission system; • Sign off by customer; We will need access to your property in order to install a PV system, mainly the loft area and access to the MCB. Following receipt of final payment, a completion certificate will be issued and the roof barriers will be removed.
